CNA/WARD CLERK- PRN- DAYS
WARD CLERK/CNA- ACUTE CARE- DAYS 6AM- 6PM

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Ward Clerk/CNA is responsible and accountable for complete and accurate processing of information, communicating and collaborating with all health care team members to facilitate patient care, facilitating acquisition of materials, and assisting with clerical activities that support the operation of the unit.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Answer phones, screen and refer calls as appropriate; deliver messages and provide information to patients, visitors and personnel upon request. Must be willing to train to work the desk in Acute Care.
Perform a variety of clerical duties involved in operating the organization’s patient care information systems. Transcribe physician orders, enter orders into computer, verify printout and input orders to request diets, treatments, nursing services, equipment and diagnostic and laboratory test and procedures. Place calls for consultations as needed.
Assembly and maintain patient charts from admission through discharge; obtain patient history file from Medical Records as required; file physicians’ orders; follow up request to expedite orders; prepare discharge patient record for Medical Records as appropriate. Assemble admission chart packs
Ability to organize and set priorities, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Provides laboratory, radiology and other test results from patients’ records to requesting physician or nursing staff taking care to re-file in record after requesting individual complete the review.
May be asked to rotate among various units and to perform other duties as assigned
Will also be expected to perform the duties as a CNA
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Requires basic computer skills involving standard software for recording patient information in computerized databases, proficiency in reading comprehension, spelling, and writing normally obtained in high school and on-the-job experience.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REFQUIRED: Current CNA and BLS Certifications
6 AM- 6 PM- PRN Position
