Performs routine duties in connection with the preparation and serving of food. A person who is also responsible for keeping area clean and presentable in the kitchen and public dining area.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Must be able to work in close proximity of others. Must also be willing to fall in line of chain of command, Head Cook charges the kitchen during times when supervisor and Director are not available.
Must keep stock on shelves in appropriate areas
Lifting and stocking repeatedly
Will be putting away stock in cold areas, such as refrigerator and freezer. (Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with help from a co-worker)
Operates simple machinery used in peeling, shredding, slicing, straining, and mixing various foods.
Prepares coffee and tea for public dining area and patient wards.
Stocking plastic ware, cups and condiments.
Must be able to load and unload clean food carts, clean and disinfect them.
Clean dining area tables, chairs and disinfect microwave.
Operates or assists in operating dishwashing machine, washing and sterilizing serving utensils.
Cleans floor vents and flushes with water.
Collects garbage and disposes of it by electric garbage disposal.
Keep trays, carts, refrigerators, serving line, freezer, coolers, etc. washed down.
Assists in receiving deliveries.
Must be able to work around chemicals used in cleaning and cooking.
May occasionally assist in cooking or preparations of cooking.
Pushes food carts.
Incidental to other duties, cleans kitchen work area, washes down walls and mops floors, cleans out trash receptacles and takes to the dumpsters, cleans vents and wire racks.
