Overview: Seeking RN PRN for PACU
Requirements
Current and unrestricted KY RN License
BLS
ACLS
PACU / OR Circulator Experience Preferred
Job Description & Duties
PRN Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 0600-1400 with occasional call
Recovery of patients from general anesthesia
Assist anesthesia with pre op neural blockade
Will cross train to circulate in OR/Endoscopy suite
Will cross train in Same Day Surgery
In PACU:
Monitor patient vital signs as they wake from anesthesia
Treat pain, nausea, and other patient post-op symptoms and any side effects of anesthesia
Comfort patients who awaken scared or confused after surgery
Ability to provide interventions based on age specific criteria and patient care standards.
Work with an interdisciplinary medical team
Document and keep the team informed of the patient’s progress
Keep accurate and complete records.
Complete assignments in an efficient, well organized, and self-directed manner.
Must be willing to work in a team atmosphere and incorporate a professional attitude in his or her performance.
Responsible and accountable for maintaining and improving knowledge and skills.
